Makinde to extend tenure of LG , LCDA Caretaker Chairmen for another three months : forwards request to Oyo Assembly

The Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has requested for an extension of the tenure of the sixty-eight Local Government and Local Council Development Areas Caretaker Chairmen and their members.
The request was contained in a letter forwarded to the Oyo State House of Assembly by the Governor.
The tenure of the Caretaker Chairmen whose appointments were approved on the 19th of December, 2020 will expire on the 19th of December, 2020.
The Governor, in the letter wants the House of Assembly to approve the extension of tenure of the Caretaker Chairmen for another three months.
The letter read in part " It is my wish that the House of Assembly gives this request accelerated hearing to avoid creating a vacuum in the governance of the Local Government Councils.
The Speaker Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin who read the plenary said the House will work inline with the report generated by its Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
Hon Ogundoyin assured that the request will be attended to by the House on Friday during its plenary.
