Baba Ijesha defiled the minor twice. Inserted a car key in her private part — Forensic Expert

A forensic report presented by a witness, Olabisi Ajayi-Kayode on Tuesday to Special Offenses Court in Ikeja has revealed that the embattled Yoruba actor, James Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as ‘Baba Ijesha’, inserted a car key into the private part of a minor.

Olabisi Ajayi-Kayode who’s a child forensic interview expert, narrated how the suspect allegedly groomed and defiled a minor. Led in evidence by Mrs Olayinka Adeyemi, Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Ajayi-Kayode said that the alleged victim was relaxed, cooperative and could recall events when she was being interviewed.

“The clinal presentation of child s*xual ab*se was quite evident. The perpetrator engaged the child in s*xual activity when she was seven years old, on two occasions. On the 19th of April 2021, he s*xually hara*sed her, touching her body. He told her: ‘I touched you some years back, you are so grown, so developed. Do you have a boyfriend? We have some unfinished business. These are the clinical presentations of child s*xual ab*se. These are the dynamics of child s*xual abuse and the modus operandi of perpetrators – inculcation of secrecy, intimidation, thr*at or coercion,” she said.

“He asked the child if he should remove his p*nis and asked her to sit on his lap. He told her not to tell anybody. The perpetrator also inserted his car key into her v*gina and asked her not to tell anyone,” Olabisi Ajayi-Kayode added

Justice Oluwatoyin adjourned the trial to October 20 and 21 for further hearing. Recall that Baba Ijesha was on June 16 arraigned before a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Yaba, Lagos State for alleged s*xual a*sault and attempted r*pe of a minor.

Oyo South Senator [Dr] Kola Balogun: A unique representative at a glance - By Wuraola Akinfenwa | Southwest-frontier

Oyo South Senatorial district could be referred to as one of the blessed districts that is fortunate enough to have Senator Mohammed kola Balogun as her representative in the 9th Assembly of the Red chamber.

Senator Kola Balogun a first-term Senator has served  like a third-term legislator in the red chamber of the National Assembly.

Naturally, some senatorial districts are fortunate enough to have a visionary and energetic representatives in the National Assembly, while others are not so fortunate.
Oyo South Senatorial district is one of the fortunate districts that is currently represented by a man of absolute integrity and with a political midas touch in the person of Senator Kola Balogun

It’s often been said that a first-term legislator are always referred to as learner in the chambers of the National Assembly, Federal Republic of Nigeria but Senator Kola Balogun has proven them wrong through his excellent performance at the Red chamber in the past two years he assumed duty at the National Assembly.

Permit me to highlight few of his laudable achievements to you:

Recently, He facilitated the reopening of the stores of Rice of traders locked up unlawfully by men of _the_ Nigeria Customs at Oja'Oba and Bodija Int'l market in Ibadan. The return of the goods are expected soon.
Facilitation of SME's grants for over 300 youths across the senatorial district

Agricultural training and empowerment programme for the youths in conjunction with IAR & T.

Facilitation of free access to loan facility for Cooperative societies in Conjunction with SMEDAN.

Provision of High Voltage transformers to wards that are numerous to mention across the senatorial district

Rehabilitation of BCGA road, gbekuba area, along Apata Ibadan.

Also rehabilitated a road in Ibarapa zone area of his senatorial district...
All these among many other which include sponsoring of BILLS and MOTIONS at the plenary sessions. The distinguished Senator has been able to achieved in the past 2 years of representation.

Do you still think opposition parties in Oyo South Senatorial district need to contest against Senator Balogun in 2023? The answer is NO, unless the PDP wish to shortchange her chances in the National Assembly.

Senator Kola Balogun is a politician of high repute with a distinguished originality and sui-generis representative worthy of emulation by other members at the upper chamber and grass root level. He has positioned himself beyond the imagination of men and I am very sure, in the 10th Assembly, he would perform more than he's currently performing now in the 9th Assembly.

I urge the good people 0f Oyo South Senatorial district to be careful not to contest or vote against the distinguished and compassionate Senator come 2023 general election as this gold mine in their hand must be protected jealously in their best interest.

Yes! Makinde Is Bad Market To Your Party's Gross Incompetence, Monumental Failure – Oyo PDP Carpets Aleshinloye, Oyo APC

The Oyo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to a statement credited to the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) via one of it's chieftains, Abass Aleshinloye, over the weekend where Governor Makinde was said to be bad market for the opposition party if the governor were to join the APC describing the statement as the bitter truth expressed negatively.

The ruling party, Oyo state PDP, is reacting to Aleshinloye's statement following what former PDP member Femi Fani-Kayode, while speaking to newsmen in Abuja shortly after his official decampment to APC that he (Fani-Kayode) was working to lure Governor Makinde and another governor alongside himself to the APC.

According to a press statement by Oyo State PDP Spokesperson, Akeem Olatunji on Monday Sept. 27 and made available to newsmen described Aleshinloye's statement as very laughable and better left at the state of wishful thinking of a deluded party that's yet to term with the level of utter disgust and rejection Nigerians now have towards APC.

Oyo PDP averred that while it was not out of place for any individual, group, or association to wish for something good or aspire to have a leader who would genuinely represent the interest of the general populace, it was however, more delusional for such dreams and aspirations to be predicated on wishful thinking as against applicable reality.

Olatunji in the party's press statement said only clowns, deluded individuals or political group lacking in focus and direction will take words and statements emanating from the camp of APC or any of its members in Oyo state seriously stressing that the people of Oyo state are still healing up from the agonizing trauma inflicted on the people by the gross incompetent and failed government of Oyo APC for eight interrupted years.

The ruling party in the state however, advised Aleshinloye and Oyo chapter of APC to tender an unreserved apology to the people of the state for every trouble and pain it plunged the people into with way and manner it ruled the state without the slightest fear of God or guilt of conscience seeing how the APC government between 2011–2019 failed in all sectors and making life unbearable for residents in the state during the period.

Oyo State PDP expressed it's excitement and sense of pride as the ruling party which was brought about by the sterling performance of Governor Makinde across all sectors in less than 3 years which undoubtedly has surpassed Oyo APC's entire eight years put together including the highly improved quality of life, standard of living, as well as sense of pride restore to Indigenes and residents of the pacesetter's state.

"What the Oyo state chapter of APC has said about Governor Seyi Makinde who is a shining light at this time and generation through one of it's chieftains, Abass Aleshinloye, that our Governor was bad market to their dead and idea-bereaved party is entirely true because Makinde is and will always be bad market for gross incompetence, corruption, extremely greedy and a failed political party as APC.

"The statement credited to APC via Aleshinloye who was notorious for frivolous and reckless statement just to be in the news about Makinde joining their party is at best delusional and mere wishful thinking by a dead party desperately in search of a saviour who will have at least close pedigree and political will to deliver on the people's mandate as Governor Makinde.

"For the sake of record and emphasis, Oyo state residents are still enjoying their governor, Seyi Makinde, who has redefined the political landscape in Oyo state with the paradigm shift from political few to the general welfare and development of the state making it easy today for sons and daughters of nobody to become respected and notable members of the society without any political connection or affinity.

"It is clear to all Nigerians especially in Oyo state that the change mantra of the APC was grossly mistaken for a positive change because of the initial disposition of people towards 'change' as a word. Nigerians now deeply regret ever making such a sore mistake of commiting their collective destiny into the hands of APC in Oyo state which today has even transcended the borders of the state.

"Governor Makinde is our pride in PDP not only in Oyo state but Nigeria as a whole and such a star should not be expected by agents of darkness better known for retrogression and backwardness because such wishful thinking will remain a traumatizing mirage that is better left in their imaginations." Oyo PDP said.

National Assembly Beefs Up Security Over Planned Protest - Southwest-Frontier

The management of the National Assembly on Monday morning beefed up security in and around the premises apparently to thwart a planned protest by some legislative aides.

The aides, under the auspices of Salary Arrears Affected Legislative Aides (SAALA), had vowed to ground activities at the National Assembly beginning from today over alleged non-payment of their 2019 salary arrears and allowances in the sum of N3.1 billion.

Investigation by The Nation showed that there is increased presence of security personnel including anti-riot and regular policemen, Department of State Services (DSS) personnel and Sergeant-at-Arms in the complex.

They were seen manning various entrances and exits in the complex.

It was also observed that the doors leading to the foyer at the White House from the Senate and House of Representatives chambers have not only been shut but being guarded by security operatives.

The Chairman of the National Assembly Legislative Aides Forum (NASSLAF), Salisu Zuru, had disowned the group, describing their planned action as illegal.

The SAALA had in a statement said the protest had become necessary to press home their demands.

The statement was signed by the Coordinator of SAALA, Mr. Zebis Prince, and five other members.

The SAALA maintained that they were being owed N3.1 billion, comprising N1.35 billion in salary arrears and N1.75 billion for consequential adjustment on minimum wage.

“We will picket the National Assembly Complex, as well as the venue of a training organised by the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) billed for Monday, Sept. 27, to press home our demand for better working conditions,” they said.

According to them, while over 1,300 aides were still being owed salary arrears, none of the 2,345 legislative aides has received the consequential adjustment on minimum wage, since their appointments in June 2019.

They alleged that the Clerk to
the National Assembly, Ojo Olatunde Amos, had disobeyed a resolution passed by the House of Representatives mandating him to pay the arrears.

“It is clear that Legislative Aides have exhausted their patience and in the coming weeks, starting from Monday, Sept. 27, Legislative Aides will embark on series of actions to drive home their demands.

“For starters, we shall ensure that the selective training planned for Monday by NILDS does not hold by mobilising our members to picket the venue.

“From Tuesday, we shall also picket the National Assembly complex to draw the world’s attention to the embarrassment going on in the nation’s premier law-making institution,” the statement reads in part.

They listed their demands to include: Full payment of salary arrears from June 2019, the implementation of consequential adjustment on minimum wage, restoration of Duty Tour Allowance (DTA), holistic and comprehensive training for all cadres of legislative aides, among others.

In a swift reaction, Chairman of NASSLAF, Salisu Zuru, in a statement last night,
said the group is out to perpetuate illegality.

The statement reads in part: “Information reaching me has it that some disgruntled Aides are planning to disturb the peace of NASS.

“I seriously and urgently wish to bring to your attention the likely breach of peace in National Assembly starting from tomorrow being 27th September, 2021 by some disenchanted and egocentric Aides whose stock in trade is always confusion. Their grouse is that some of them have not been paid their Salary Arrears.

“Be verily informed that apart from the Protests they want to stage tomorrow, they have concluded plans to Disrupt the Training being organized by NILDS and which will start on Tuesday after tomorrow.

“These Aides are embarking on illegality because none of them is an executive member or Members of CWC of NASSLAF, the body constitutionally empowered to run the affairs of Aides.

“The peace of NASS should not be allowed to be disrupted in the guise of salary arrears.

The Clerk to the National Assembly, Ojo Olatunde Amos, said management had since met with the leadership of the group.

”Efforts were made to offset the arrears,” Ojo said, through his Special Adviser on Media and Labour Matters, Austen Adesoro.

“Management has explained to them categorically, with evidence on the efforts being made to raise funds to pay those of them that the management is owing arrears.

“The Principal Officers are doing their best to ensure that whatever needs to be done is done to ensure the release of the funds from the Ministry of Finance,” he said.
