A chieftain of the People's Democratic Party(PDP),Hon Hellen Taiwo-Adebakin has rejoiced with Christians on the occasion of Mother's Day ,also known as Mothering Sunday .
The PDP chieftain, in statement described the Day as an occasion to share love ,celebrate and reunite with families .

The day which is usually held on the fourth Sunday in Lent, exactly three weeks before Easter Sunday, it was a originally a day to honour and give thanks to the Virgin Mary, also known as Mother Mary.
She used the occasion to pray to God to ease the task of motherhood in Nigeria and beyond
Adebakin equally called on mothers to use the opportunity of the celebration to pray for Nigeria to overcome her security and economic challenges.
According to her " such celebrations required people to visit their 'mother' church - the main church or cathedral in a family's area.
" The gatherings reunited families and gave children who worked as domestic servants, or as apprentices away from home (from as early as ten years old), the opportunity to have the day off to join their family and see their mother." She said
