Ahead Ekiti 2022 governorship election, a political group named, " Ekiti Progressive Minds" (EPM) has declared their support for Otunba Yinka Akerele as the next governor of Ekiti State.
Ekiti Progressive minds is a combination of like minded people who believes in the growth and progress of the state. And the group declaration support for Otunba Akerele, came just as the race for June 2022 gubernatorial election begins to gather momentum.
EPM, in a statement released by its Director of Media, Comrade Joseph Akomolafe after the group brainstorming meeting held yesterday in Ado-Ekiti, the group said that Otunba Yinka Akerele, with his antecedents and political pedigree, was better positioned to promote good governance and deliver dividends of democracy.
Akomolafe said, Otunba Akerele is a bridge builder, a consensus builder, and committed to the vision and principle of PDP, stressing that he is qualified and most suitable for the task of being the party candidate in the 2022 election.
Akomolafe said further that the opposition party (PDP) in the state needed a very strong standard bearer that is rational and decisive enough to check alleged excesses of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state.
