RAMADAN: HON AJIBOLA MURAINA REQUESTS PRAYERS FOR THE PEACE AND SECURITY OF IBARAPALAND
April 13, 2021
Hon Dr Ajibola Muraina, Member, House of Representatives representing Ibarapa Central/ Ibarapa North Federal Constituency at the 9th House of Representatives has called on muslim faithfuls in his constituency to sincerely commit themselves to Allah with personal sacrifice and prayers in the spirit of the month of Ramadan.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Olubunmi Sodipo, the federal lawmaker urged his muslim constituents to use this opportunity for spiritual reflection, self-improvement, heightened devotion and worship, as well as putting more effort into following the teachings of Islam.
"As muslims, we should learn to reward good with good, not evil and if possible even reward evil with good for Allah is merciful and all-forgiving, as those who deliberately reward good with evil will never go unpunished, not only on earth here but also in the hereafter", the statement added.
Hon Muraina also noted that just as the spiritual rewards of fasting are multiplied during the month of Ramadan, the observance of the holy month teaches the practice of self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice and empathy for those who are less fortunate, encouraging generosity and charity.
He therefore requests that much of the prayers and increased piety in this month of Ramadan should be focussed on beseeching Allah for the peace and security of Ibarapaland, even as he prayed that an end will be brought to the spate of insecurity being experienced, not only in Ibarapaland but in Nigeria as a whole.
Ramadan Kareem
Signed
Olubunmi Sodipo
