YOUR FUTURE IS BRIGHT, HON AJIBOLA MURAINA TELLS IBARAPA STUDENTS, SPONSORS BALLOON DEBATE/QUIZ COMPETITION

The finals of a three-round balloon debate/quiz competition amongst secondary school students in Ibarapa Central/ Ibarapa North Federal Constituency initiated and sponsored by Hon Dr Ajibola Muraina, the Member representing the federal constituency at the 9th House of Representatives, was held in Igboora on Saturday 15th May, 2021.
The competition named, "Ojebode Ayinde Muraina Annual Balloon Debate/ Quiz Competition", in honour of his father is one of the many initiatives of the Honorable Member's contributions to the educational development of Ibarapa. This is in keeping with his firm belief that the practice of getting informed about the news and happenings around oneself, as well as being able to speak intelligently and convincingly about it, is a desirable skills set, which when cultivated and mastered will enhance a bright future for the students. "Hopefully, some of these boys and girls will be deploying these same skills to represent Ibarapa Central/ Ibarapa North Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, in a not too distant future", he added.
In his welcome address, Prince Olalere Rafiu Bola, the Chairman, Organizing Committee of the competition thanked Hon Dr Ajibola Muraina for his commitments and efforts towards the educational development  of Ibarapaland.

Prince S. A. Oyediran, Secretary of the committee revealed that six schools represented by two students each, emerged from the second stage of the competition which was held simultaneously at Ibarapa North LGA and Ibarapa Central LGA, out of which the best six schools made berth in the finals.
In a keenly contested quiz competition, Royal Diadem College, Igangan emerged the clear winner with 16 points while Adegoke College, Igboora Jubilant College, Tapa and Igboora High School, Igboora were tied at 14 points each. After another round of questions and answers, Adegoke College, Igboora        clinched the second position while Jubilant College, Tapa took the third.            

In the finals of the balloon debate, students argued for and against the topic: Nigerians do not deserve a better Nigeria. On individual performance, Josephine Aleji of Igboora High School came first, Lammy Favour of Favourland College second and Ajekiigbe Timilehin of Royal Diadem came third. With the aggregate scores of their two representatives, Favourland College took the first position, Igboora High School the second and Royal Diadem College the third position. Prizes will be awarded to the winners and certificates of participation to the others, at an awards ceremony at the Children's Day celebrations on May 27th, 2021.
Hon Muraina reaffirmed his commitment to the educational development of Ibarapaland, as he promised to continue to invest in programmes and initiatives designed to nurture a bright future for Ibarapa students.
