Destiny is a mystery, that the wise and the witches of the world are still looking for the power behind the word "mystery", many great warriors and wealthy personalities have risen from poverty to greatness and many sons and daughters of wealthy parents have begged on the streets for food, destiny is Divine!
Some Bible scholars and preachers have argued that destiny can be 'changed' but they fail to explain why our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross confirmed that destiny is Divine, when he agreed with the power of nature and Will of Almighty God that, "His will shall be done on earth".
Destiny plays a significant role in Politics but politicians fail to accept that God decides the affairs of MEN. Anywhere a politician finds he or herself in politics, "it is Divine and not by mistake".
I remember a great politician born in Ogbia , The former Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, The Governor, Vice President and The former President, Commander of in Chief of Armed Forces, Chief, Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan GCFR, GCON!
Goodluck Jonathan was born on the 20th of November 1957 in Ogbia to a Christian family of canoe makers, from the Ijaw minority ethnic group in Bayelsa state.
Did I mentioned Minority? according to Oxford dictionary, Minority means: the smaller number or part, especially a number or part representing less than half of the whole. Ogbia town is one of the smallest Ijaw community in Bayelsa State.
Goodluck Johnathan studied Zoology in the University of Port Harcourt and his Doctorate degree in the same university, before his entry into politics in 1998, he worked as an education inspector, a lecturer and an environmental-protection officer.
Destiny smiled on Ebele Goodluck Johnathan, when PDP and her Governorship candidate in 1999 general elections, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, who later became the governor of Bayelsa State and was later impeached on the 9th December 2005 by the then Bayelsa State House of Assembly. Dr. Goodluck Johnathan was sworn-in as the Governor of the state immediately and completed Diepreye Alamieyeseigha's tenure.
What beat imagination of political bookmakers and PDP gatekeepers happened, when Former President Olusegun Matthew Okikiola Aremu Obasanjo, GCFR, picked him as the running mate to Former President Late. Umaru Musa Yar'adua, no one thought then that, the newly sworn-in Governor of Bayelsa State will emerge as the vice president, when PDP have many powerful governors who have spent two terms in office lobbied for the same Vice President's slot. I must also remind you that Dr. Goodluck Johnathan is a very gentle and coolheaded man, he neither lobbied nor did he show desperation like majority of his counterparts before he joined Politics and after he ventured into politics.
Without any sign of desperation, fate did it again, when death struck and Nigeria lost her second sitting President. Former and Late. President Umaru Musa Yar'adua, who died on the 5th of May 2010, at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa after a prolonged illness.
Dr. Goodluck Ebele Johnathan was sworn-in as a substantial President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the 6th of May 2010 after 3 months as acting president. He completed Yar'adua's tenure and won 2011 presidential election under the platform of the same party, PDP.
If a prophet or an lmam tells Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, in 2004 that, a minority from a small Ijaw town of Bayelsa State will be president before him, Turaki Adamawa will never have believed such prophecy or if a Pastor or an Alfa predicted in 2018 that Engr Seyi Makinde will emerge as Oyo State Governor in the 2019 elections, political bookmakers and watchers will argue, it will be very hard to believe that Engr Seyi Makinde can defeat the gladiators in Oyo State Politics!
Opposition party and their aspirants should know and agree with me that His Excellency, Gov. (Engr) Seyi Makinde is a man of destiny and he is God's sent to change the fortune of the state after eight years of APC misrule.
No one would've believed in 2019 that LAUTECH can be solely owned by Oyo State after Former Gov. Ajimobi and Gov. Rauf Aregbesola abandoned the School, the Lecturers and the Students for so many years because of funds,
No one would've thought that Iseyin will get a Satellite Campus of LAUTECH in 2021, Oyo State parents had lost hope on free education, if not because of the selflessness of Gov. Engr Seyi Makinde.
The cooperative societies that have been running smoothly by civil servants to assist their members were almost dead during the APC led Government because of irregular salary and failure to remit deductions to various Cooperative societies account, but today Oyo State civil servants are praising God that GSM is their Governor, what about, the pensioners that are collecting their pensions on the 25th of every month, same day with the civil servants? "Oyo State pensioners testify that no other Governor ever did that in the history of the State.
People are asking questions that where is the present Government finding money to finance the state expenses, paying salaries, funding contracts, paying full Subventions to Tertiary institutions, paying running costs to primary and secondary schools after APC and Late Gov. Abiola Ajimobi told us that the State was broke before 2019 elections, I think Engr Seyi Makinde is prudent and he is a good manager of funds and human resource.
GSM is a man of destiny and having emerged as a governor of the state was Divine and i recently listened to the interview Former Gov. Alao Akala did some days to 2019 Governorship elections and I told myself, that God has plans for Oyo State, that's why, He sent a selfless, brilliant and hard-working man like Engr Seyi Makinde to the State after 8 wasteful years of APC Governor and Government.
He has touched all the political regions in the State with many projects in just two years, surprisingly, Oyo State will soon begin to host international football matches at the newly renovated Adamasigba stadium after so many years of waiting!
I will like to call on the good people of the state to caution the opposition parties to shun politics of hatred and bitterness and allow the Governor to deliver and complete all the good works that God sent him to do.
Finally, let me remind desperado politicians and oppositions in the state that "Life is turn by turn" and nobody fights "God and wins".
Politics shouldn't be do or die, oppositions in the state should be very careful not to politicize security matters and other political matters in the state, in a responsible society, security issues must be tackled collectively in respects of political affiliations.
Engr Seyi Makinde will win, if he desires to run for second term by God's grace and anointing upon him.
